While we attempt to spot all rotted wood, doing so can be difficult, and sometimes impossible. For example, peeling paint can mask rotted wood. In some situations, damage is not visible until other wood is removed.
While a more comprehensive inspection is possible, we run the risk of dislodging damaged wood. This could increase the opportunity for water and insects to infiltrate the property, and cause more damage.
This is the reason we provide written quotes and specifically identify what wood if any, we will replace. If we have overlooked damaged wood, it can be addressed prior to beginning work, or when it is discovered.
